There is something especially enjoyable about photographing actors because every expression, outfit, and subtle change in posture can become an entirely different character. Actor headshots are about much more than creating beautiful images. They are about building a collection of photographs that feel authentic while showcasing range and casting possibilities.
I recently had the pleasure of photographing local actor Marianne Snow in the studio for a new set of headshots. Marianne brought such positive energy to the session and was an absolute joy to work with from start to finish. She arrived with beautiful wardrobe selections and clear ideas about the different characters and roles she wanted each look to represent.
One of Marianne’s standout features is her gorgeous curly hair, and we embraced that versatility throughout the session. Since she regularly wears glasses in her everyday life, we photographed some looks with glasses and others without, along with variations of her hair up and down to create even more options for casting opportunities.
Marianne did an incredible job bringing each character to life through expression and subtle shifts in body language. She was bubbly, friendly, and completely committed to each look we created together. Sessions like these are a great reminder of why I love photographing actors so much. They bring stories into the room long before a script ever arrives.
