Elle is an actor represented by Meus Talent Agency who recently shaved her head and needed updated headshots to reflect that change. There’s something really powerful about capturing someone in a moment of transition like that, when their look shifts and they’re stepping into a slightly different version of themselves.

For the session, Elle brought in Yelena for makeup, who did an incredible job. She created two distinct looks and stayed for the first half of the shoot to build a more edgy direction that paired really well with some of the stronger, more expressive portraits. Having that shift in styling gave us a nice range without overcomplicating the session.

Working with Elle was effortless. She’s incredibly creative, and her wardrobe reflected that right away, moving from more artistic looks to business and everything in between. It gave us a lot to work with visually, but what stood out the most was her presence in front of the camera.

She has the ability to shift her expression from intense to light within seconds, which is something I always notice with actors. I know I say this often, but it genuinely never gets old. That range is one of their strongest tools, and when it’s there, you feel it immediately. With Elle, it came through in such a natural, controlled way that made the whole session flow.

Beyond acting, she’s also a musician and writes her own scenes and scripts, which I find really inspiring. I always love working with people who are deeply invested in their craft and explore different creative directions within it.

Elle will also be part of my 1,000 People Project, where I’ll be photographing her in her new apartment with her guitar. I’m really looking forward to capturing a more personal, candid side of her in that environment.
