23 Apr A Beauty Photography Shoot to Remember
I am absolutely obsessed with beauty photography – it’s by far my favorite style of portraiture. There’s something incredibly special about capturing the intricate details of a woman’s face and celebrating the artistry of makeup. In this recent session, we had the privilege of working with the stunning Ottawa-based model and actor, Trinh. From the moment we began, it was clear that this was going to be an incredible shoot, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the final results.
This was my first time working with Trinh, and she exceeded all expectations. Not only is she drop-dead gorgeous, but she’s also an absolute pleasure to work with. As you’ll see in the images, her energy and beauty truly shine through. Her professionalism and warmth made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable.
A huge shoutout to the amazing Yelena, our makeup artist for the session. Yelena has been a long-time collaborator, and her work never ceases to amaze me. She created a customized makeup look that was bold yet elegant, flawlessly complementing Trinh’s natural beauty. Yelena is a master at crafting both creative and fashionable looks, and as always, she nailed it with this session.
For the shoot, I opted for two different lighting setups to showcase the look in unique ways. In the first setup, I added a backlight to highlight Trinh’s gorgeous features, while the second setup used a one-light beauty dish to create soft, flattering light. Although we only had time for one makeup look, I felt that the two different lighting styles truly brought out the versatility and depth of the look, giving us two distinct outcomes – and that’s always a win in my book!
It was such an incredible experience working with both Trinh and Yelena. Their professionalism, creativity, and positive energy made this shoot an absolute joy.
