05 Feb Mother Daughter session with Mel & Scarlett
I love mother daughter sessions. I think they are so precious and I know that their portraits captured together will be cherished for years to come. You may recognize Mel, the mom, from a session I did during the summer where she was wearing all orange. Mel mentioned that her daughter had expressed an interest in joining her in a photoshoot and so we made it happen. I am honoured that Mel trusted me to take her family portraits. Scarlett, her daughter, is a very beautiful young girl with a boatful of energy. This made for a fun filled shoot.
As you will see, there was a lot of fun and laughter at this shoot. I also got to play DJ for the session and discovered that Scarlett and I share the same interest in music. Her two favourite artists are Taylor Swift and Katy Perry (both of whom I listen to pretty regularly). I thought that was cute. Scarlett even gave a super big compliment by saying I looked like Katy Perry. She became one of my favourite people quite quickly.
I captured some cute behind the scene shots as well. I think it’s safe to say that Mel and Scarlet both had a blast at our photoshoot. So much silliness!
I suggested that they bring fun props like bubbles to the studio. I have only done bubbles in portraits once before and it was outdoors. I actually really like the bubble effect in the studio, now that I’ve tried it. I definitely recommend giving it a shot at your next family session (assuming it’s age appropriate).
