Turning 30 in Vegas

Turning 30 in Vegas

I wanted to celebrate big when I turned 30. Las Vegas had big written all over it. I turned 30 in 2016 which was also the year I started photography. I also just started dating this incredible man, Vince, who I now call my fiancé. I found out on our first date that our birthdays were only a few days apart in October and the wheels started turning in my head. Naturally, being impulsive, I asked him to come with me so we can celebrate both of our birthdays in style. It didn’t take much convincing for Vince to be on board. I guess the more practical person would note that this could have turned out horribly but it didn’t at all.

I did another impulsive thing on this trip, I bought a wide angle lens. We shared the lens while exploring the city, Red Rock Canyon, and Grand Canyon. It was so much fun. I can’t believe it’s been five years! We spent most of our trip enjoying good food and photographing all the beauty of Nevada and Arizona. While in Vegas we didn’t gamble once. Gambling was never my thing, it seemed a shame to stay indoors while you could be out in the warm sun.

Here are some of my favourite photos from the trip!

Vegas Strip & Old Vegas:

Hotel animal life (Flamingo Wildlife Habitat) and (Shark Reef)

Red Rock Canyon

Grand Canyon

If I would go back I would spend more time exploring Red Rock Canyon. It was such a beautiful place. I would also spend more than a few hours at the Grand Canyon. It was a rainy and cold day when we went there. Still very impressive.
