10 Sep πΈ Cookies, Cameras & the Word βNoβ π β A Photography Trade with Alex & Emmett
Yesterdayβs shoot was a treat β literally πͺ
I had the pleasure of doing a photography trade with local portrait photographer Alex, who wanted some new photos of his adorable three-year-old son Emmett. It was the perfect time to capture some sweet father-son memories π
Alex came prepared with Emmettβs favourite things β a set of wooden bricks π§±, a beloved handmade blanket π§Ά, and a stash of colouring supplies ποΈ that looked well-loved and well-used. The real MVP of the shoot, though? My homemade (gluten-free!) chocolate chip cookies π Apparently Emmett agrees, because they were an instant hit. He may have been shy with me at first, but letβs just say cookies work better than icebreakers.
Emmett, like most three-year-olds, is currently in a committed relationship with the word βNOβ β and heβs not afraid to use it π But even with his boundless energy and toddler sass, we got some seriously cute shots of him solo, plus some heart-melting ones with his dad. He has the kind of expressive little face that makes every frame feel like a storybook moment β¨
It was such a fun, relaxed session full of giggles, crumbs, and candid joy. I love capturing parents with their kiddos, especially when the love and personality shine through so easily.
Next up, Alex will be turning the camera on me π₯ Heβs an incredible portrait photographer and I canβt wait to have some updated shots of me with my own camera (and maybe some behind-the-scenes magic too).
This kind of trade is exactly why I love being part of a creative community β good photos, good company, and, of course, good cookies πͺβ€οΈ
