18 Jun Golden Hour with Marianna – A Creative Collaboration
I recently had the pleasure of photographing Marianna Kokkinos, a talented actor you can catch live at Ottawa’s Fringe Festival. From the moment she stepped in front of the camera, Marianna brought an incredible, bubbly energy that made the session feel effortless and fun.
As an actor, she was completely at ease in front of the lens—unafraid to express herself, and able to shift between moods and expressions with total authenticity. She gave so many natural, joyful smiles throughout the shoot, and it was a reminder of how powerful presence can be in a portrait.
We started in the studio with a 90s-inspired look, featuring her denim-on-denim outfit. The vibe was relaxed and nostalgic, and Marianna wore it with confidence and charm. After that, we took a short walk to a nearby park and stumbled across an empty baseball diamond. It turned out to be the perfect backdrop to catch the golden hour light as it bathed the scene in warmth.
Sessions like this are what keep my creative spark alive—where two artists come together without over-planning, with the shared goal of making something expressive and real. No rules, just trust and instinct guiding the way.
Thank you, Marianna, for your openness and energy. Working with you was a joy, and I can’t wait to see what you do next.
