15 May Adjusting the Fashion Industries Standards
There are some people you meet in life and you can’t help but admire. One of these people for me is Alexandra Guilbault. Alexandra is an incredible woman who is changing the world of clothing and pushing the boundaries to make fashion accessible in all sizes. She is the owner and creator of Wild Hips, an online clothing store where curvy women can purchase “plus size” clothing that not only fits properly, but is also super fashionable (Her website is linked below). Alexandra’s business was inspired by her own hard time finding clothing that both fit right and was something she would want to wear. Often times, as she recalls, the clothing options that were presented to her were just not fashionable. She figured that if she couldn’t find clothing she liked, then many other women must be in the same boat. And with that, she single-handedly created Wild Hips to solve the fashion dilemma for not only herself, but for others like her. Alexandra is one smart lady and is someone going places!
Wow, how beautiful is she? Right when she walked into my studio I had to compliment her on her beautiful hair. Also, how cute is her outfit? I believe she will be adding this skirt to her collection soon.
Alexandra brought three outfits to the shoot. The second l;ook was a simple white t-shirt and underwear, which is a solid staple for boudoir photography. I love getting natural expressions from the ladies I photograph because there is always a good chance that they may not have seen themselves like that before. We don’t often see our own natural expressions because we aren’t constantly surrounded by mirrors.
I think Alexandra is perfect for boudoir shoots. She has beautiful natural curves, long red hair, and stunning expressions. Not to mention, her confidence is awesome. I think that’s one of the reasons she was so much fun to photograph. To me, the definition of beautiful is and always will be confidence. She definitely nailed this shoot!
